■ 銀行を取り巻くビジネス環境/システム環境
米国のリテール・バンキング事業では、主要顧客層がミレニアル世代/Z世代へ移行する中、デジタル・バンキングの強化（DX）が最大の課題であり、ストレスのないカスタマー・エクスペリエンスこそが差別化施策と考えられている。そのためには、使いやすいアプリやWebサイトの機能拡張を短期間で開発しタイミング良く投入する必要があるが、米国の金融機関の大多数は、大手ベンダーが提供する従来型コアバンキング・ソリューションに依存しており、迅速な対応が可能なシステム環境とは言い難いのが現状だ。

サイバーセキュリティの根幹は、データの暗号化/ネットワーク通信の暗号化による不正アクセスの防止だ。すべてのサイバーセキュリティ対策が破られても、暗号化が最後の砦となる。暗号化はEコマースでも非常に重要であり、サイバーセキュリティに関する規制や各種標準は、すべて適切な暗号化手段の導入を求めている。
現在利用されている暗号化アルゴリズムは、高度な攻撃手段を駆使するハッカーでも破ることができない。ただ、量子コンピューティング時代に突入すると、現在の暗号化アルゴリズムは存続の危機に直面することになる。
