How did you get into insurance?

A friend of mine was working in insurance, and he decided to go a different route. This created an opening, which I decided to pursue. I write mainly personal lines such as home and auto insurance.

How do you approach prospecting?

My main approach is just to be myself. I focus on people I know and build on those relationships. Then I try and get them to introduce me to people they know. I stress that I am there to help them with their insurance needs.

How did you get into insurance?

I attended business school at Ole Miss, where I enrolled in an introductory course on risk management. I did well in the class and enjoyed learning about strategies companies employ to mitigate risks. After graduation, I went into insurance sales—first at a captive agency and later at independent agencies.

How did you get into insurance?

I studied exercise science at university and became a strength coach/personal trainer after graduation. I was attracted to the field because I enjoy developing close relationships with my clients and supporting them as they reach their goals. Eventually, I got burned out: My passion for exercise became work.

IT strategies establish a vision for the future and can be motivational if communicated properly. In my previous strategy blogs, we talked about understanding the hows and the whys of IT strategy. Having the answers to these questions makes communication easier, but a communication plan is still necessary.
