U.S. Bank ATM Vendors: Increasingly Diversified
Financial institutions want to leverage the ATM channel as a competitive advantage by offering feature-rich and advanced functionality.
Boston, April 12, 2012 – A new report from Aite Group examines the U.S. ATM market, provides an overview of the relative penetration levels held by various providers, and makes recommendations for financial institutions and vendors participating in this space. Based on an Aite Group survey of U.S. bank ATM-channel executives, the report describes the satisfaction levels of respondents across five key areas of the ATM channel: ATM hardware, ATM software, ATM servicing, ATM driving, and cash replenishment.
Today’s financial institutions want more than operational efficiency from their ATM providers; they want to leverage the ATM channel as a competitive advantage by introducing a personalized and integrated user experience supported by feature-rich and advanced functionality. Upgrading the ATM channel has proven difficult, however. U.S. banks are faced with capital constraints, the increasing cost of compliance, and competitive pressures. Further, in an ecosystem made up of many vendors, these challenges and concerns do not belong to bank executives alone; ATM vendors must play a key role in addressing these issues in order to retain market share and satisfy ATM executives.
“U.S. financial institutions’ acceptance of multivendor technology makes the ATM market a very competitive environment that comprises many technology and support-services vendors,” says David Albertazzi, senior analyst with Aite Group and author of this report. “Vendors that can demonstrate an ability to build value for institutions will retain clients and maintain margins.”
The report highlights the following ATM technology vendors: ACI Worldwide, Bancsource, Brinks, BS/2, Diebold, Dunbar, Elan Financial Services, Fifth Third Processing Solutions, First Data, FIS, Fiserv, Fujitsu, Garda, KAL, Loomis, Nautilus Hyosung, NCR Corporation, Pendum, Phoenix-Interactive, Triton, and Wincor-Nixdorf.
