Consumer-Directed Healthcare Technology: A Vendor Evaluation
Despite a proliferation of consumer-directed healthcare technology vendors, few are able to provide end-to-end solutions that meet their clients' needs.
Boston, MA, October 28, 2009 – A new report from Aite Group, LLC provides insight into suppliers of consumer-directed healthcare (CDH) administration technologies and platforms, and gives vendors an understanding of their competitive environment. Based on Aite group's evaluation of eight CDH technology vendors, the report provides a market overview and detailed profiles of the vendors included in the study, as well as a detailed evaluation of their product functionality.
The rapid growth of consumer-directed healthcare accounts has given rise to multiple healthcare vendors providing outsourced or licensed services around the administration of CDH accounts. These vendors have invested a lot of time, money and resources in building robust solutions to support the needs of financial institutions (FIs) and health plans (HPs) entering greenfield CDH segments. Today, the CDH technology market is dominated by outsourced or licensed solutions, which are set to benefit even further due to ongoing compliance and regulatory changes around the administration and processing of CDH accounts. Although a multitude of vendors provide CDH-related services, a select few have gained the trust of the market and proven themselves capable of providing an end-to-end solution that caters to their clients' needs.
"As the CDH market continues to grow, Aite Group expects vendors that have shown a high level of commitment to addressing the needs of the CDH market to reap the majority benefits in terms of account size, client reach and revenues," says Kunal Pandya, senior analyst with Aite Group and author of this report. "Conversely, vendors that have given these needs a low level of priority will lose out on market share and revenues from existing financial institutions and health plans."
The report profiles and evaluates Canopy Financial, ConnectYourCare, DST Health Solutions, HealthEquity, Lighthouse1, Metavante (now part of Fidelity National Information Services), TriZetto, and TSYS Healthcare.
