Novarica 2020 Events Plan

Novarica is shifting to an all-virtual events calendar for 2020, and we’re taking advantage of this virtualization to reconfigure our events plan slightly. All events are listed at https://novarica.com/events/

Weekly Virtual Town Halls are a new way for us to bring our insurer client and council community together originally designed to address specific pandemic-related issues. We’ve been amazed by the positive feedback, and we’ll be continuing these sessions every Tuesday from 1-2 PM ET, focused on top-of-mind issues for our clients, whether directly related to the pandemic or not.

Special Interest Groups will be held quarterly, using the format we’ve developed for the weekly client town halls. These will be 90-minute virtual sessions (with a short intermission), open to any insurer client staff or Research Council members. These quarterly sessions will replace the breakout groups at our annual Council meeting as well as the scheduled stand-alone special interest group meetings.

In addition to the quarterly virtual sessions, we’ll be connecting with Special Interest Group members monthly by email to share recent insights and gather topics for the next meeting.

We are disappointed to have change our plans. We kicked the year off with several special programs, and we had a rich schedule of live events planned for this year. But things change. For one thing, most of our clients can’t travel now and can’t make plans to travel later. For another, the current situation is making everyone a lot more comfortable with video conferencing and meeting digitally. This greater acceptance of meeting online makes it possible for us to offer more frequent and shorter events, and we’re looking forward to doing so.

We hope to reassess our mix of physical and virtual events in late Q3, and we’ll be asking feedback later this year as we formulate those plans. In the meantime, we look forward to connecting online!
