Boston, February 6, 2020  –The internet of things era has ushered in a rich tapestry of connected devices, applications, and tools that help individuals track the minutia of daily life. The trail of data they compile over time is a valuable source of rich and colorful insights for health plans—that is, if they can capture that data.

This report serves as a guide for health plans seeking to refresh their member engagement through rewards and incentives-based products and programs. It provides insights on health insurance plan members’ ownership and use of connected devices, their willingness to share that data with their health plan, and their concerns that must be addressed if engagement is to occur. It is based on a Q1 2019 Aite Group survey of 766 U.S. consumers, with a specific eye on the 325 respondents who have health insurance.

This 64-page Impact Report contains 58 figures and one table. Clients of Aite Group’s Health Insurance service can download this report, the corresponding charts, and the Executive Impact Deck.
