Supply Chain Finance in Europe
Aite Group contributes to clarifying supply chain finance terms and financing opportunities to EBA community.
London, 23 October 2013 – Though supply chain finance suffers from murky, inconsistent definitions and practices across the globe, the problem is particularly bad in Europe, where the many jurisdictions, regulations, and practices require alignment before SCF can truly take off. With the Euro Banking Association (EBA), a forum established to discuss and drive pan-European payment-related initiatives, Aite Group conducted a Q1 2012 study of the SCF market and its opportunities. The result of this collaboration, "EBA Market Guide on Supply Chain Finance," describes the current SCF ecosystem and analyzes the drivers propelling or constraining SCF at European banks.
An abridged version of the EBA market guide, this Impact Note by senior analyst Enrico Camerinelli describes the current SCF ecosystem, analyzes the drivers propelling or constraining SCF, and makes recommendations for common SCF terminology. It is based on Aite Group questionnaires and follow-up interviews with 30 market players who hold roles in SCF, trade finance, and cash management at major European banks.
This 23-page Impact Note contains four figures and two tables. Clients of Aite Group's Wholesale Banking service can download the report.
