Boston, September 22, 2020 – The challenge with many offerings in most markets in Africa is that the mobile money services there only work with consumers who subscribe to one specific phone service. Some multinational mobile network operators (MNOs) can enable cross-border transactions on their own networks, and some governments, including Ghana’s, have enabled interoperability in specific markets, but the concept of an MNO-agnostic mobile money wallet is unique—and that’s Zeepay in Ghana. Zeepay allows Ghanaian citizens to obtain a mobile money wallet and use any mobile network to transact with any citizen that is also using the Zeepay wallet.
